Lodge Facilities

The Lodge is well equipped with a great range of facilities including a self-catering kitchen, communal lounge and dining room.

Lounge and Shop

Our guest lounge is adjacent to the dining room, next to reception. Fitted with comfy armchairs and a big sofa it's a great place to relax with a book or a board game. In winter (and chilly summer evenings!) we light the fire stove to keep things cosy. There are lots of local reference books with details on walking, the geology and the history of the Assynt area.

Free WiFi is available, and EE SIM mobile phones can pick up data broadband download speeds up to 70 Mbps on the terrace outside the Lodge, with upload speeds over 10 Mbps.

At reception you'll find a shop selling a selection of snacks, cooking ingredients, soft drinks, alcohol, essential toiletries and books & maps. It’s not a supermarket – but certainly there is enough to get by with – and avoid an extra journey to Ullapool for a toothbrush!

In addition, we stock "explorers" dehydrated foods  to help passing hillwalkers and trailblazers.

We are linked up with the famous Lochinver Larder and sell a small selection of their delicious pies in our shop - a staple delight for those finishing a leg of their Cape Wrath Trail at Inchnadamph, or someone simply not wanting to cook one night! (subject to availability and season).

Kitchen and Dining

We have a large, well-equipped self catering kitchen that is available for use by all Lodge guests. Stainless steel work benches and sinks, gas/electric cookers, microwaves and large fridges are all yours to use. Freezer space is also available and boxes are provided for storage of other foods.

There is a second smaller kitchen also available for guests, although either kitchen could be reserved for groups.

The ability to prepare your own packed lunches and evening meals can save a fortune on the cost of eating out every day.

The Dining Room seats about 45 people at our large solid pine social dining tables. In the cooler months, a roaring fire in the stove keeps out the chill. A large window provides lovely views over Loch Assynt and towards Quinag, and there are French doors out to picnic tables.

Our free self service breakfast of cereals, toast & preserves, fruit juices and fresh coffee is normally served from 8am until 9.30am.

Laundry and Drying

There is a large drying room just beside the back door – ensuring you can at least start the day with dry clothes.

We also have a washing machine, outdoor clothes line and tumble drier available for use (from £3 charge per machine).
